Pink Out
Breast Cancer Awareness Month Campaign
Pink Out Breast Cancer Awareness & Support
The Susquehanna Township School District student body and the Susquehanna Township Alumni Association hold a PINK OUT Breast Cancer Awareness and Support campaign throughout October. We are extremely pleased to partner with our local schools during the campaign which includes the Pink Out Football Game. Through the years the student-led campaign has raised nearly $94,000 to support brave women and their families.
During the month, money is raised for local charities, Vicki’s Angel Foundation and Pink Hands of Hope. Special thank you to our local business leaders and our extended community for supporting this worthy and much-needed cause.
2022 Susquehanna Township and Northern York
Sponsored by the Susquehanna Township Alumni Association and led by the Susquehanna Township School District student leadership team of Ben Teplitz and Abigail Feather, the annual Pink Out Breast Cancer Awareness campaign ran throughout October. The October 14th Pink Out football game with Northern York was the feature event while there were weekly dine-outs at local restaurants, staff dress-down days, and a pie-in-the-face contest. In addition, the first Pink Out Color Run was held on August 20th at Veterans Park.
Ben Teplitz and Abigail Feather served as this year’s Student Leadership Co-Chairs while Rhyce Hammaker served as the Alumni Association Pink Out Chair.
Through the years the student-led campaign has raised nearly $94,000 to support brave women and their families in the battle against breast cancer. Money raised during this year’s events supports two local charities, Vicki’s Angel Foundation and Pink Hands of Hope. The campaign has also supported PA Breast Coalition and the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides.
Because of the generosity of the Susquehanna Township community and supporters, the 2022 campaign raised $8,000,
“The Alumni Association is humbled to join the battle against breast cancer with local nonprofits including long-time partners Vickie’s Angel Foundation and Pink Hands of Hope. Although there is more work to be done in the battle against breast cancer, we are grateful for the support of the school district and the community in our efforts.”
